About Chicago’s Top Wedding Photography Studio

weddingology is a Chicago North Shore professional photography boutique specializing in a very unique photojournalistic wedding reportage style.

Although several of weddingology’s clients are located in the Midwest, we have shot weddings from coast to coast in the US and Canada as well as in Europe. We pride ourselves in building intimate relationships with each couple, allowing him to unobtrusively capture spontaneous defining moments with a unique combination of skills and sensitivity — telling the story as they lived and dreamed it would be. To see the list of features, publications, seminars, and speaking engagements, scroll down to the Noteworthy section below.

Our images have appeared in Grace Ormonde Wedding Style, Modern Bride Chicago, Modern Bride Florida, Modern Bride SoCal, NBC5, USA Today, Chicago Social, Photo Sélection, and TV Guide and have been featured on several industry leading web sites including: PhaseOne, DxO Image Masters, Lexar, Lowepro, Luminous-Landscape, and Studio Photography

Although our principal photographer was published in a national photo magazine by age 12, photography was not his first career. After graduating with an engineering degree from the University of Toronto, he earned his MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University and completed the Wharton School International Management Program. He started his career at General Mills, then worked for IBM when the Internet was in its infancy, and then joined Gemini Consulting, a strategy consulting firm headquartered in Paris.

It wasn’t until 2001 that he became a professional photographer to allow him to take care of his first born. Since then, his family has grown to four beautiful children.

To advance the photography industry, he advises the management of cutting-edge software and camera manufacturers on the development of new digital photography technologies as well as consult with several studios and individuals on technique, workflow, digital darkroom processing, equipment, marketing, strategy and pricing.

Over the years, our equipment has continuously been upgraded to what we felt were the most performing digital cameras available. We have owned and shot at least one full wedding season with each of the following cameras: Nikon D2x, Nikon D1x, Canon 1Ds mk III, Canon 1Ds mk II, Canon 1Ds, Canon 1D mkII, Canon 5D, and Leica DMR. To see a [partial] list of current equipment, please peruse the Equipment section on the top right of this page.
